The Workshop Shed in Tetbury will welcome men and women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities who enjoy learning, sharing and applying new practical based skills, coupled with a passion to UPcycle redundant things for renewed use.

The Workshop Shed will be oriented to pursue a range of different UPcycling crafts. Initially the crafts will work with wood, but other mediums will include metal, plastics, glass and fabrics. Artistic value is an important element - making things not only useful but beautiful too.

We live in a society where we are encouraged constantly to buy the new - off the shelf - and disregard the old - in the bin. This leads to a lack of care and respect for our surroundings and blinds us to the true worth of the materials we consume.

By learning to create something useful, beautiful or both, we learn a greater respect for ourselves, for others and for our material world -- not least the everyday items we all use or the things we all admire.

Suggested by our own volunteers, the project is founded on the expanding 'Man Shed' movement and the upsurge in interest and commercial activities around UPcycling and UPcycled products.

As well as offering a programme of courses, in different craft-based disciplines, The Workshop Shed will be available as a community resource where everyone is welcome to come and use our facilities - be that the space, the equipment or our knowledge and support. Taking all this together and within a mixed gender group environment we will be providing the opportunity to learn something from each other, about each other and importantly, about ourselves.

The Workshop Shed is about people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities learning, sharing and practising workshop skills, in a social space, to UPcycle redundant things for renewed use.

The project has a strong environmental theme as it is centred on UPcycling - giving redundant household things renewed use.

Welcome to The Workshop Shed
